What is a Silver Bullet?
The Silver Bullet is an ICT (Inner Circle Trader) concept that identifies specific time windows where institutional market makers execute their most aggressive orders. During these 60 minutes, gold price performs fast, directional moves that break key liquidity levels.
There are 3 Silver Bullet windows per day, each associated with a major trading session: London (10:00–11:00 CET), New York AM (15:00–16:00 CET) and New York PM (20:00–21:00 CET). These times are based on Paris (Central European) time, the financial hub that bridges the Asian and American sessions.
The key to the Silver Bullet is the Fair Value Gap (FVG) that forms on the M15 timeframe during these windows. Price seeks liquidity above or below a recent swing, leaves an FVG, then reverses aggressively. This pattern repeats with statistical consistency because it reflects the true mechanics of institutional order execution.
Why do we trade only in these windows?
Gold does not move randomly. Institutional order flow — central banks, hedge funds, bullion dealers — concentrates at specific times of day when major players need to execute volume. Trading outside these windows means facing low-probability statistical noise.
The London window (10:00–11:00) captures the LBMA gold fix and European morning orders. NY AM (15:00–16:00) aligns with the COMEX open and the Europe-America liquidity crossover. NY PM (20:00–21:00) captures final adjustments before the American session closes.
